QUALITY POLICY

      The Office of the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance is committed to continually spearheads the development, implementation and sustainability of systems and procedures in the University in accordance with the local, national, and international standards and requirements set and prescribed by various accrediting and certifying organizations and regulatory agencies.

OBJECTIVES:

Office of the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance (OVPPQA)

The Office of the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance shall focus on issues on planning and development, performance monitoring and evaluation, quality assurance and productivity improvement. It shall have the following general functions:

  1. To facilitate the process of institutional planning and development by adopting appropriate approaches and documentation;
  2. To coordinate and facilitate the conduct of monitoring and evaluation of performance, analysis and decision making;
  3. To assess and facilitate the institution’s sustained certification or accreditation including its program offerings;
  4. To support and advocate institutional productivity and continual quality improvement.

Offices under the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance

Planning, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Office (PPMEO)

  1. To provide central direction in the formulation of strategic and operational development plans to the university;
  2. To undertake monitoring and evaluation on the implementation of development programs and execution of policies and other institutions standards;
  3. To monitor and evaluate the institutional performance on relevance and fulfillment of objectives, development efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability;
  4. To formulate strategies, policies and procedures, and systems for the university’s performance monitoring and evaluation;
  5. To provide substantial administrative support to institutional planning, performance monitoring, evaluation and enhancement at all levels of the university; and
  6. To perform such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the President [VP PQA] or as may be required by law.

Quality Assurance Office (QAO)

  1. To formulate strategies, procedures, and systems for the university’s quality assurance;
  2. To promote and implement sustainable quality assurance and enhancement framework in accordance to the university and support the accreditation processes for external organizations and framework;
  3. To provide substantial administrative support to quality assurance and enhancement at all levels of the university; and
  4. To perform such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the President [VP PQA] or as may be required by law.

Quality Management System Unit (QMSU)

The University Quality Management System Unit has the following specific functions:

  1. To monitor and evaluate (audit) and provides support on the compliance to standards and statutory regulations required under the quality management system at all levels of the university and external stakeholders;
  2. To coordinate and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and information, the conduct of internal and external audit, the preparation and submission of reportorial requirements both to internal and external parties;
  3. To extend support and assistance on formulating strategies, policies and procedures, and systems for the university’s continual improvement and sustaining its integrated management system certification and enhancement; and
  4. To perform such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice President for Planning & Quality Assurance or as may be required by law.

Pollution Control and Safety Unit (PCSU)

  1. To conduct environmental, health and safety activities for TSU community, to eliminate or reduce risk of accidents/ incidents, providing a safe and health workplace.
  2. To ensure that the local statutory regulatory requirements of environmental, health and safety is applied at all levels of the University.
  3. To monitor the implementation of environmental, health and safety statutory and regulatory rules and regulations of the government or as may be required by law.
  4. To perform such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice President for Planning & Quality Assurance or as may be required by law.
