TSU Men's Football Team wins championship trophy in Bulacan 7-a-side tourney

Tarlac State University's Men's Football Team brought home the championship trophy after besting 14 teams from Central Luzon and Metro Manila in the Men's Open category of the 2nd Lakan Football Cup held today (January 15) at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Malolos City, Bulacan.

Tarlac State University's Men's Football Team brought home the championship trophy after besting 14 teams from Central Luzon and Metro Manila in the Men's Open category of the 2nd Lakan Football Cup held today (January 15) at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Malolos City, Bulacan.

The championship match with Pamiyabe Football Club of Pampanga ended in favor of TSU with a score of 2-0 in the penalty shootout.

The team climbed its way to the finals with four wins, two draws, and zero losses in the Men's Open category under bracket B.

Aside from claiming the coveted trophy, three members of the team were recognized with individual awards.

Goalkeeper Jeremy D. Jimenez was awarded the Golden Glove medal, Cedrick P. Agustin received the Golden Boot award, and Vien Joefry S. Gonzales was named Player of the Match.

Joining tournaments outside the Tarlac Province is part of the TSU Football Team's training program in preparation for the SUC III Olympics or the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) III Regional Meet this February 2023.

This is the team's first time participating in the Bulacan tournament organized by the Pinoy Wolves Football Cup of Bulacan.
