Tarlac State University key officials led by university president Dr. Arnold E. Velasco inspected the newly refurbished rooms of the TSU Capas Campus at Brgy. Cristo Rey in Capas town on Thursday morning (September 8, 2022).
Said rooms will be utilized in the face-to-face classes of some major subjects of the Criminology and Public Administration programs.
The campus, established in 2018, also offers Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education programs under the College of Teacher Education.
It currently has three classrooms and an administration building with a room in the left wing that can be converted into a lecture hall. All rooms are fully air-conditioned, and the classrooms will be installed with a 65-inch smart TV this month.
According to Mr. Victor Garcia, executive assistant of Capas mayor Roseller "Boots" Rodriguez, the local government plans to build a mini library with laptops and computers where students can study and research.
Thermal scanners, alcohol dispensers, and safety signage will be placed around the campus in compliance with health protocols.
Garcia added that the LGU Capas is also planning to put up additional classrooms in the future. Benches will also be available soon, where students can lounge during breaks.
Other university officials who joined the inspection are Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Grace N. Rosete, Executive Assistant to the University President Dr. Brigido B. Corpuz, and College of Criminal Justice Education Dean Dr. Roel Alviar (Capas Campus coordinator).
