TSU FDMO project engineer and BSCE grad lands 10th spot in February 2022 Master Plumber board exam

With an average of 82.70%, Engr. Kervin A. Melchor of the College of Engineering and Technology secured the 10th place in the recently concluded February 2022 Master Plumber Licensure Examination. 

Melchor is a graduate of BS Civil Engineering in 2018 and passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination in November 2018. He is currently working as a project engineer at Tarlac State University’s Facilities Development and Management Office. 

In an interview, Melchor shared that he only had less than three weeks to prepare for the board exam. He also added that in a day, he ensures to have 8-6 hours of rest and plays online games to relax. 

As to the effort he exerted in reviewing, the collected reviewers from previous examinees and poured himself with dedication and perseverance to achieve his goal. 

“You need to surrender to God everything and pray for what you want. You need to focus on your goal and be consistent with what you are doing,” Melchor said when asked about his tips to future board exam takers. 

““If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice,” he added. 

The topnotcher also shared that he was surprised when he was greeted with congratulatory text messages after a game of basketball since he did not anticipate that results would be released on February 21. 

TSU has produced six new master plumbers in the February 2022 boards giving the institution a 66.67-percent passing rate. 

There were 1,244 examinees all over the country who took the said exam with 776 passers according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
