Extension 2013 Update

Major Developments

    1. Change of unit name from University Extension Office to University Extension Services Office through BOR Resolution No. 71 series 2013.
    2. Increase of Terminal Extension Cash Incentives (TECI) through BOR Resolution No. 56 series of 2013.
    3. Continuing ISO 9001:2008 certification. On-going preparation for re-certification this December 2013.

    • School-Based Community Development in Lauangcupang, Lapaz, Tarlac – on-going implementation of projects/activities to the school and various sectors in the community.
    • Health Sector Based Community Development in Batangbatang, Victoria, Tarlac – on-going development of the program. Profiling/needs assessment has been conducted
    • Sugarcane-Based Community Development in Lalapac, Victoria, Tarlac – on-going implementation of projects/activities.

      • a. Advisory assistance to operation/management of the Alyansa ng Maggagatas – Katiwla ng Pilipinas (ALMAKAP), a federation of dairy cooperatives.
  • Special Programs/Projects
    • Student Extension Experience (SEE) Program – On-going. Awaits the submission of Completion Reports of participating student organizations.
    • 2. DOST-3 Community Enhancement through Science and Technology (CEST) Program in Anao, Tarlac – completed the technical assistance on the designing of labels for vermicompost, technical evaluation and assistance on smoked fish processing of women’s group, and provided the engineering design for vermicompost siever and ilang-ilang flower picker (for fabrication by TSU through the College of Technology)
    • 3. Awareness of Climate Change and Ecological Systems Sustainability: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Program (ACCESS: CC-MAP) – information dissemination to all campuses of the university. On-going implementation of the program.
    • 4. Social Action on Relief and Rehabilitation Assistance Program to Victims of Calamities (SARAP Tumulong) – Approximately Php61,000.00 were donated voluntary by faculty and employees through salary deduction of 1% of one month salary. The amount were used to purchase goods intended for victims of calamities in Tarlac but were donated to victims of Typhoon Yolanda through the Sagip Kapamilya Foundation of ABS-CBN. On-going solicitation for addition donations.
