Objectives

1. MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY

BSIT Mechatronics Technology

Course Description

Adapting the growing need for trained technologists within the high speed technological industry is the emphasis of the program Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Mechatronics Technology. This program is an emerging field that blends mechanical, electrical, computer, and electronics facets within a foundational context of industrial machinery. This program is an evolutionary design development that requires horizontal integration between various industrial technology disciplines, as well as vertical integration between design and manufacturing.

BSIT Mechatronics Technology

Objectives

  1. To prepare graduates for technically oriented careers in which they apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluation of automated systems (computer-controlled with embedded electronics, sensors and actuators).
  2. To shape graduates as a significant component of the University’s commitment to building character and careers of our students-integrating teamwork/leadership skills and preparing students for lifelong learning and assuming personal responsibility for applying the highest professional and ethical standards to global issues related to the field.
  3. To equip students with necessary skills and knowledge so they will be able communicate effectively in the professional environment in individual and group situations and translate customer requirements and effectively integrate multiple mechanical and electrical systems as well as specify, design, deploy, implement, troubleshoot and maintain mechatronic systems.
  4. To enable students to participate in lifelong learning to stay technically current in the profession and apply appropriate strategies to maintain professional, ethical and social responsibilities in the workplace and include a respect for diversity so they can work effectively in individual and group-oriented settings.
  5. To provide students with fundamentals in analyzing the produced system and formulate its economic impacts on the overall organization.

 2. ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

BSIT Electronics and Information Technology

Course Description

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Electronics and Information Technology (BSIT - EIT) is a 4-year degree program that deals with the study of utilization of computers and computer software as well as the peripheral devices closely associated with computer-based systems. Its emphasis is on the technology itself more than on the information it conveys. Further, this program builds a basic knowledge of dc and ac circuits. From there, it concentrates on analog and digital electronics and systems. This program is also designed to augment the knowledge of the students covering the control systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), analog and digital communication, and microprocessor systems.

1. AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

BIT Automotive Technology

Course Description

This course covers the use of hand tools equipment, the theory, construction, inspection, diagnosis, engine repair of internal combustion engines, principle of operations and types, diagnosis service and repair of brake systems, automotive electrical theory wiring diagrams, test equipment, repair of automotive electrical components, CAI painting, welding, basic driving and automotive troubleshooting.

BIT Electrical Technology

Course Description

The Industrial Electricity program is designed to provide training in basic theories, principle, and understanding of electrical safety theory and application, schematic diagram, national electric code, and electric motor control. Graduates are employed in manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, facilities management, operations, and other related areas in electrical service industries. Also, graduates are engaged in entrepreneurship and electrical service shop management.
