Overview

Mission:

The Tarlac State University, as a budding center of educational development, embraces the belief that through the COLLEGE OF HUMAN KINETICS it can fashion an educational program that can contribute to the enhancement and harmonization of the physical, social, intellectual, spiritual and emotional development of the students and faculty, as well. PHYSICAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, as a life-long process, contributes to the development of a positive self-concept and helps an individual attain health insurance, social skills and academic achievement; whereas, SPORTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is a continuous process of healthful and culturally significant activities which involve active and intelligent citizenry framing a physically fit and strong competitive labor force which can be instrumental in attaining national development goals. Specifically, the CHK shall evolve in the next millennium through the following thrusts:

  1. Spearhead the research on the offering of Physical Education curricular courses leading to specialization and advanced programs.
  2. Maintain faculty development through scholarship, training, seminar-workshop, symposia, sports clinic, etc. to upgrade and update their competencies in Physical Education and Sport Development.
  3. Continuously improve the selection, training and development of potential athletes who shall represent the university in provincial sports competitions, SCUAA III Meets, CHED Meets, national and international events.
  4. Structure and maintain a physical fitness program for the faculty and non-teaching staff ascertaining a healthful and hygienic environment in the university.
  5. The College upholds its Athletics/Sports Scholarship Program under the auspices of the Scholarship Committee of the Office of Student affairs for the growth of deserving students.
  6. Design strategies to improve instruction, instructional equipment and facilities and to revitalize the teaching/training requirements of the institute for the current and future standards.

Vision:

The Tarlac State University through the College of Human Kinetics, shall structure a program which shall be the basis of operation in meeting and serving the needs of prospective clientele and even teachers who visualize growing professionally in this discipline.

 Bachelor in Physical Education

The Bachelor in Physical Education prepares the students to become official referees of various sports, team coaches of various sports, athletic managers and recreational consultants, and academic instructors in Physical Education. BPE is open to both male and female students who are sports enthusiasts and love to propagate the academic pursuits in Physical Education.


 Diploma in Physical Education

Diploma in Physical Education as a post- baccalaureate course shall be geared towards upgrading and updating areas of specialization in Physical Education and Sports. Targeting the grassroots’ level, it will provide scientific and technical knowledge, skills and attitudes in programming P.E. academic courses and management of sports which include officiating, coaching and administering/supervising various sport disciplines.
